The Story of Flying Heart Brewing & Pub in Downtown West Monroe: How it Became a Part of the Community
Flying Heart Brewing & Pub is a beloved local establishment in downtown West Monroe, providing great food and drinks to visitors and locals alike. But have you ever wondered how it came to be in the heart of the city?
In this episode of The 318 Experience podcast, host Brian Bendily sits down with Adrienne Lafrance-Wells, the Main Street director of West Monroe, to uncover the inspiring story of how Flying Heart Brewing & Pub became a part of the community.
It all started during the setup for the crew of Janice Mardi Gras Parade in 2020. Adrienne noticed a group of guys walking around in polo shirts with logos on, looking in windows and at property. Being the Main Street director, she introduced herself and discovered that they were scouting communities across North Louisiana for a second home for their brewery.
Impressed by the activity and events happening in downtown West Monroe, they wanted to be a part of it. Within the next two weeks, they met with the Mayor and identified a piece of property that the city owned. Since it fit along with the downtown Master Plan based on public feedback, it was well received.
Flying Heart Brewing & Pub has been a booming business ever since, providing a tremendous commerce opportunity for other businesses in downtown West Monroe. They are open seven days a week, 365 days of the year, even on Christmas Day.
